TESFA means "HOPE" in Amharic, the national language of Ethiopia. Through the TESFA Project, we are on a mission to break the cycle of poverty and chronic hunger among Ethiopia’s most vulnerable – impoverished widowed mothers – and offer a life of dignity and HOPE. Your gift is matched by the hardworking mothers in our program who are determined to feed their children, safeguard their health and end their poverty. When you give generously to The TESFA Project your impact is exponential because not only is a women’s life changed, but so are her children and her children’s children.

You can provide an individual sponsorship in increments of $36 CAD a month or a full sponsorship for $2600 CAD. Individual sponsorship provides:

  • Relief and emergency care
  • Education
  • Micro grant or meaningful work
  • Family support

You also can give a Seed Grant to launch a Savings for Credit grant in a village. Typically this gift impacts up to 10 women assigned to a group.  Minimum grants start at $130.

Your gift provides a sustainable solution by offering small business training, life skill development, a micro-grant or meaningful work, medical care, family support, as well as immediate financial and personal relief for widowed mothers and her family.
